CS-50: Using the old MS-20 trick

Found something very interesting over the weekend.
The old MS-20 trick, using the audio output as Modulation
signal, works very nicely on the CS-50, too.
Simply plug the output into the external in, select "external"
in the modulation fader box left of the keyboard, and there you go.
Try this for a start: Use only the Sine wave from the VCO to go into
the VCA, and then modulate the VCA with the feedback loop over
the extaernal input. This alone is an interesting sound generation
method on its own.
Or, still without using the saw and pulse waves, set the filter
resonance to
maximum and modulate the VCF from the external feedback source.
(You can even use aftertouch to control the amount!)
This is only a start. FM synthesis with one VCO and feedback loop?
No problem; remember the CS-50 has *linear* VCOs ...
You can produce very interesting clean, but also very dirty sounds
by this method. Play chords, or play single notes legato, and the
result is always more on the dirty side.
This makes the CS-synths even more interesting, IMO.
