which uses a hardware analog sequencer metaphor would be a useful thing? I
think this is pretty easy to write. I had in mind that this could use a
MIDI-CV box as CV generator (or even use that MIDI out to control a
keyboard). The program would have a series of sliders controlling each
steps' voltage, LEDs, etc. Maybe it could be synced to MIDI time ticks.
And so forth. What I'm really asking is Do you think an effort like that
would be an unnecessary duplication of the many full featured sequencers
already available?

analog sequencer.
it's runing under windows 95 only and you can download a demo of it.
ther shuld be a link to the compuny site frome synth zone, serch thecno toys.
also ther the doepfer analog seq wich is based on midi but have also cv/gate
output.
the nice thing about this machien is that you have what doepfer desighen
to control the seq frome other midi controlers,it cald chanel XX,YY wich
for exempele if you want to control the note length(gater) you set on seq
to comunicate on the YY chanel with his brother so what you gut is one
row generate note number and gate time and the other row frome the other seq
is controling the gate time for each note on the ferst seq.
you can control all the parametrs of the doepfer seq in reel time
useing any kind of midi keyboard/controler.
also when you done your sequence you just rec it to your midi softwere and
then move to the other work.
one more thing is the doepfer shaltwerk patern seq 8/16 with 127 patern
memory.
