'Analog' sequencer on PC?

You could use a joystick as one of your input devices...
Two modes, data entry and playback
left/right movement moves from stage to stage in data entry and
slows/speeds step rate in playback
When you were entering the individual stages, you could also hit the
fire button and it would pay back what you had at a fixed tempo ( 80-100
BPM ) to audition...
front/back movement raises/lowers voltage in data entry and can operate
as a continuous controller in playback affecting overall voltage (
multiply entire sequence by xxx ) or another parameter ( portamento,
another CV ( filter, attack, etc... )
You could also watch for the speed of movement on the left/right so if
you gradually moved it, it would affect the playback speed but if you
jinked it suddenly to one side, it would start playing back the next
stored sequence...
