'Analog' sequencer on PC?

This is kind of a survey question...

Does anyone out there think that a MIDI sequencer running under Windows which uses a hardware analog sequencer metaphor would be a useful thing?  I think this is pretty easy to write.  I had in mind that this could use a MIDI-CV box as CV generator (or even use that MIDI out to control a keyboard).  The program would have a series of sliders controlling each steps' voltage, LEDs, etc.  Maybe it could be synced to MIDI time ticks.  And so forth.  What I'm really asking is Do you think an effort like that would be an unnecessary duplication of the many full featured sequencers already available?
