A PLL would actually be a good idea. This is what many modern processors
and DSPs do, since it's so hard to get a 200 MHz crystal to be accurate.
The DX4/100, for instance, has as its input a 30 MHz crystal and then
multiplies by three with a PLL (OK, so that makes is a DX3/99, but that's
marketing for you :)). Likewise the 56004 and 56002 run at 80 MHz these
days using 40 MHz crystal input. You would still need a high-frequency
oscillator but running it in series with a PLL would reduce its range
requirements.
