I think Leon Theremin designed a musical dance floor where the
position and movement of the dancers produced or altered 
sounds.  I don't have any details about it, but I guess it
was just a large Theremin.  Maybe he patented it?

It's great advantage is that there's not much for the
dancers to steal - "excuse me sir, is that an RF field
under your jacket?" :-)
