Good solution if you only need a few switches. I always use one
of these DIL relays as a hard-bypass on my DIY FX devices.
So when I don't use the device, there's a direct connection
from input to output.
I have retrofitted my RE-201 Space echo with a hard bypass,
because it was annoying to either re-patch connections or
live with the loud noise of the tape transport mechanism, when
I don't need it.

So I'd be careful when I use lots of switches ( think of an electronic
16x16 patchbay). The power consumtion will either require a
switched PSU or will produce a lot of heat - both are things you
want to avoid in analogue musical instruments.
Ok, there are some circuits that help reduce the power consumption of
relays by providing a high current to switch and a low current to
hold (a diode / resistor / elko network for example), but this needs
extra
components.
