tube VCO / VISIO Software

Hi Eric!

When you use VISIO to export a TIFF file, it will call up a dialog box
labeled TIFF Output Filter Setup.
There are two things to watch for ( in the lower left corner for version
4.5 )

Resolution and Size - the Resolution defaults to the Screen resolution
which for printed text is downright crappy!
You need to either change it to Printer ( usually 300 DPI ) or nail in a
custom rez - 150X150 is fine for basic text. They don't make it clear
but the Screen resolution is when the whole drawing is viewed on the
screen - needless to say, if you were displaying a full 81/2 X 11 page
on a 14" monitor or web page, text will not show up...

Size also limits resolution too - it defaults to Source which if this is
a standard page size, should be OK - you can set it to a really small
page size ( or screen ) and again, have problems with detail.

Best bet might be to save working copies in VISIO format and SaveAs to
generate the files.

Even better is http:\\www.ivex.com where you can download their WinDraft
PC Schematic Capture and WinBoard PC Board Layout for free. This
supports up to 100 pins - a 200 pin version is available for about $30 -
no other limitations and quite nice after a bit of a learning curve...
Lots of free utilities and conversions on their site too.
