Nothing wrong with the Blacet Research PIC approach, although you will need
a divider after the DIN sync pulse output.
But, if you have a spare midi module of any kind, you can set up a click or
pulse sound of some type at the rate you want, then take this audio (which
repeats at the desired clock rate) and feed it to an envelope follower and
then a comparator with some hysteresis.
A little bit of tweaking, but it will be a one chip solution (quad LM324, say).
If you are INCREDIBLY lucky, you might be able to synthesise a bass kind of
sound and amp it up and trigger the synth clock input directly... I've seen it
done, but I'd rather have a bit of ckt so I could tie it to other things if
need be.
