Oh, I don't know.....
I think it depends how sterile the programmer is....

A friend was playing a DSP based analog 'emulator'
(built from a Motorola DSP56303EVM evaluation board)
with 8 knobs on New Years Eve at our local..
it ROCKS in a major 'analog' sounding way, also works as
audio processor, has morphing between any two of the 100
patch memories, selectable filter configs,  etc..

I had to post this, OK I build analog gear for a living,
but we must try to be fair!
