cheap conductive plastic pots from Maplin ?

Hi!

With all that talk on DSPs and shaft encoders lately, I hope I will
not sound too
old fashioned with my question about some ordinary potentiometers
(;->):

I have just received the latest Maplin catalogue, and they have rather
inexpensive
conductive plastic (I think) potentiometers (less than 1 UKP for a
single one).
They also have types with switches, even push/pull switches.
I have ordered a few immediately, but maybe anybode on the list has
already
tried some of these? Are they any good?

JH.
