The Titan DSP is an Analog Devices SHARC. The operating system is called
CSound.
See (duh!) www.analog.com
for more info.

So, Paul, are you saying that the SHARC is programmable via Csound??? If it
is, man, that would be the deal..I have heard Csound is pretty good. But I
didnt know it was compatible with SHARCs.. elaborate please, i only know
the very iota of DSP theory, would it be too much to ask how DSPs are
implemented, perhaps a little primer, like exactly HOW the lookup tables
work, etc..
I personally always thought that a lookup table was a lot like a wavetable
synth, where you could interpolate between many different waveforms in real
time to get the desired response, kinda like taking a BUNCH of samples of a
moog, and making a multidimensional table to represent each of the various
parameters that could be changed, and it would play the wave that
corresponded to those parameters..
BUT i also think that you should be able to use mathematical response
models that will run a particular equation, and change variables in that
equation to mimick the different parameters that you would be changing
electrically with a real analog synth..but , i dont know very much, just
being a little ticky tak electronics tech with minimal ASM and no REAL DSP
experience..i never coded a DSP, BUT i have used a regular microprocessor
to manipulate the equation that produced a sine wave and messed with them
in real time with a pot. Is this how it is done? Just wondering, cuz the
instructors here at SIU like to say they have a DSP class, but mainly all
they make you do is C programming, and id rather NOT waste my time and
money...My buddy didnt even SEE a real DSP the whole time in the class :((
So chances are it will be a LLLOOOONG time before i get any institutional
training on a DSP.
