How about those analog delays...

I've done it - works pretty good. If I remember correctly, I pretty
much stuck with the PCC circuit including the -15 power thing. However
one thing I always prefer to do with home-brew delay lines is to use a
4046 for the delay clock. If you use a small cap (like 30pf) on the
VCO you can get it to sweep from around 3MHz all the way to zero hertz
in one CV sweep. I think I ran the 4046 between -15 and ground also.
     Memory fades...

(It's kind of fun to be able to stop the clock with the CV sweep...
one second you've got a nice little echo going and the next thing you
know the audio dives down to a few grunts and whistles and then stops
completely. Non-electronic music types seem to hate it... they get a
weird look on their faces and say "yuk - you call that music?" but I
     think it's cool.)

Anyway the Electronotes circuit for the MN3005 does work as shown.
     Have fun!

I just ordered an MN3005 from Digikey and plan on building the delay from
the electronotes PCC - starting this weekend.

Anybody build this? Got any tips? I'm getting the databook along with the
chip, so that should have some good info....

I figure I'll use good audio op-amps in place of those 301's and add a VCA
for VC-feedback... I'll also have to leave plenty of room on the ol'
protoboard, just in case I like it enough to spend another $35 for more
delay :)

- Thanks,
Chris

ps.
Interesting the way they have those CMOS chips connected to 0 and -15v,
rather than 15 and 0 - I mean it makes sense, I've just never thought of
doing it....
