Well,
i was thinking about doing a sequencer that would have an output only
scenario, but I guess if i looped the cv output of my Odyssey back into the
sequencer and let the Odyssey CV set the sample and hold circuit to a
particular voltage, I could very well have an input that would be recorded
for that particular step, but at this point, I would like to only have
merely 16 LEDs, 16 switches, and 16 knobs and have the thing cycle through
the voltages at each step where there is a switch on to make continuity..
I, unfortunately,
used to have a ton of MOOG stuff, but I never got ahold of any of the
sequencers. I have the docs on the two types of gate signals, so im not too
concerned with the design of the gate triggers. I would just like the unit
to scroll through the steps, kind of like an 808/909, and only play those
notes switched on with the notes being determined by the setting of the pot
at that particular step. I figger i could honestly prolly breadboard this
and get it to step off of a 555 timer just to prototype it, then replace
this free running type of tempo with a midi sync signal. But, I need to
know if there is anything in this idea I missed? lemme know if you can
present any unseen pitfalls. I guess this is also how the MOOG sequencers
worked, right?
I know, everyone is saying, dont they have a midi prog that does that? yes,
but the lag computers have really sux and I dont buy into this Virtual ****
garbage they push down our throats.. I like to be able to touch and
manipulate things.. I like reality, its not THAT bad :))
I also know of an old post about something similiar, but it kinda fell off,
and i didnt follow it too well..
sorry for the repeat :)
