***IMPORTANT TECHNICIAL INFO FOLLOWS***
These chips are removed from old equipment (NOT by me). All chips were socketed: so they were NOT
unsoldered. All chips 100% tested. If you get a bad one, send me email.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE>>>>>>PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
These chips range in date codes (year/week of manufacture) from 80xx to 84xx. Therefore, if you are buying these as a back-up to your equipment, PLEASE look (if possible: don't blame me if you tear something up) inside your synth and send me the date codes off the 3340s, AND which synth.
WHY??
======
Because these chips are made in "batches". And the INITIAL frequency and the VOLTS/OCTAVE will WIDELY vary batch-to-batch.
If you are buying these to build something, this has NO importance to you.
Now, most synths will take this into account by having trimpots to set both initial frequency and volts/octave.
BUT, to be safe, it would be better if I can send you parts that are close to the batch you have. I have seen
a 75% variance (which is NORMAL) year-to-year.
If you ever stick these parts into an existing synth, you MUST retrim it. For example, it would not be unusual to stick one of these 3340s in a P5 Rev3, and have that voice be 1/3rd octave lower than all the others, UNTRIMMED.
I am stating this so no one will panic down the road. If you have ANY issuses/concerns about this, please email.
One last time: this retrimming is NOT just for these particular 3340s. This would be true for ANY 3340s you buy.
>>>>SUPER IMPORTANT SH101 INFO<<<<<<
The 3340s in Roland SH101s are hand selected BY ROLAND. I have the Sevice Bulletin. Unfortunately,
it doesn't state HOW they test, just that they are. Therefore, I CANNOT GUARANTEE THESE 3340s WILL
WORK IN A SH101.
