Gotta agree with that one! But what about the logic on these suckers?
Is it attack priority, release priority, sustain priority, decay priority?
Uh-uh. The damn envelope generator logic should be switchable.
I personally would like to find an envelope generator that:
has a switch to decide whether to complete the attack phase vs. gate (for one finger reverse sounds)
has a switch to control gate cutoff of the decay phase (for sequencing vs. keyboard)
has a sustain control that can be tweeked while a key is held (for filter twiddling)
has a switch to control gate cutoff for the release phase (legato playing)
Haven't seen one yet. And please, no more release priority EG's, yes, you can
use it as a frequency divider, but please make it switchable (Rex!).
