Opinions on sh101 erratic behavior

I would like any assist on my diagnosis on an sh-101 I am troubleshooting. 
This thing was banged up bad and I am restoring it, cosmetically I have
finished but it has a problem I believe to be capacitor damage probably
from the wrong voltage being applied.  When turned on it will not show the
power light to be on until about 6-10 seconds later, sometimes it comes
right on.  Then it will flash on and off intermittently.  Then the load,
hold etc. leds will light randomly.  It should come on with a solid power
led and light up the hold and then transpose (reversed on power down). 
Additionally it will play a sound but it kinda dies out as if losing power.
 This is how it performs most of the time but sometimes it performs totally
normally leaving me to believe that it is not a problem w/ the rom as if it
were the case it would probably never work correctly.  Are my diagnoses
correct possibly and has anyway else experienced this?  Any help,
especially a service manual would be boo coop appreciated (is that
french?).
