I have recently got rid of my Wasp and also had a similar dilema. The
problem
with the Wasp is that it is a master oscillator and octave divider type
circuitry. There is no voltage controlled oscillator in there. The notes
are
generated by a load of control logic that decodes the key number to a
binary
code. This then selects the relevent pitch from the divide down osc
circuitry.
The only easy way to interface them is to use the digital interface port on
the Wasp. This can be done v. easily from a C64. If you would like more
info
on this give me a shout, I have an article in an old issue of E&MM
somewhere.
The only other options I can think of are the Kenton. Unless someone has
knocked something up... I really don't think you'll be able to CV it
direct.
Cheers Dave...
Hey Dave!
Well, then, thats ok, really. One way i already consider doing this is to
perhaps
make up a circuit switching array that goes between the keyboard and the
mainbboard.
Once the logic is figgered out, the actual implementation is easy..I had to
to this
before for another synth, I think a minimoog, because, if i remember
correctly,
they have no external CV in, and some ppl want to maintain the unit in
original form,
so i just intercepted the circuit between the keyboard and the mainboard,
and basically
came up with the logic that essentially did what a player would and
switched different
keys voltages in or out. I think that even if it IS logic, a circuit could
still be produced.
