No. It's a different beast. The 1496 is Modulator/demodulator as distinct
from a four quadrant multiplier like the 1495. The 1496 can also be used as
a VCA (two quadrant multiplier), thus its choice for the ETI synth, and also
the reason why I have five of them in my system.
