Toy keyboard hacking?

I'm trying to come up with a low-budget keyboard interface for a small
project I'm working on. Basically, I need a simple switch-closing
interface (no frills necessary, though if I could close two circuits
at once with one key I'd be happy). I was thinking of using an old 'toy'
keyboard since it can also serve as a housing and make the whole thing
nice and neat.

Has anyone out there successfully adapted a cheap keyboard for use like
this?

The trouble with being a god is that you've got no one to pray to.
