Serge WaveMultiplier

Hi the Serge Wave multiplier (again) has three sections, a full wave rectifier as described in Serge's patent, a clipper and a sweeped
odd harmonics generator.
On reading Bob Moogs Patent US 4,180,707 the clipper sounds like the 3080 circuit that Bob describes.  In summary the 3080 is a low gain 
device so at low input levels you can cause the input satages to clip producing a "rounded" clipping, if you increase the input signal level is 
increased the output stage clips producing more transistor like clipping.
Does any one have any suggestions as to haow the third section works? "the middle section produces a sweep of odd harmonics
(1,3,5,7,9,11, and 13) when a sine wave is applied to its input and the control voltage is swept".  I guess that it is a simple non linear function 
generator, however I have forgoten more math than I would care to admit to.

Any Ideas?
