I personally have no problem with any of the Hutchin's thread and JD has
contributed well to DIY and has even requested himself at one point, that
x0x messages not be on the list.

Considering the problems that are constantly occuring within the Internet,
and that in my rather cursory overview of JD's last email I saw no mention
of Rick's post regarding ending this thread, might it not be a little
premature silencing him when one cannot even be certain he has received the
warning?

I left Analog Heaven because of a similar action and considering that this
is an incredibly small and specialized group here on DIY, wouldn't it be
better to approach this problem via personal email and keep some sort of
"family" environment here.

I personally refuse to be part of any group that silences it members due to
their own point of view and usage of free speech. If I don't want to read
Mr. McEachin's opinions, I can choose to do so.

The reason a mailing list exists is to share information, experiences and
resources with individuals with like interests. The diversity of the
individuals is what is important here and as soon as this criteria is
manipulated by personal feelings of the moderator, I cease to even have an
interest contributing freely myself for fear of finding a sore spot.
