analog drum theory?

i've been wondering about making up some simple analog drum circuits after
studying the schems of the 606, 808, and cr-8000. i'm more interested in
things like kicks, congas, and toms and things like that that use the
"bridged T filter" network thing, rather than cymbals and hi-hats (which
seem WAY beyond my technical ability, even with the schems from roland).

anyway, are there any books or articles that might provide some more detail
about analog drum building? how about that electronotes thing i've heard
about lately? or is that more for just synths?

any info would be appreciated,
