Another difference is that with linear-slope envelopes (and portamento),
you control slope *rate*, whereas with the RC-variety you control slope
*time*.

Changing the sustain level of a linear envelope affects the decay *time*
too, but the decay *rate* is constant.

(This is true for linear envelopes of the OTA-with-heavy-feedback type,
or similar).
