You might want to try National Semiconductor's LM13700 twin
transconductande amplfier with linearizing diodes and two buffers in place
of the CA3080, you might have to do some mods on the circuit, not a lot,
some resistor value changing and such. And sometimes the linearizing
diodes will simplify your design a great deal.
