MIDI 2 CV polyphonic ?

Hi!

I'm working on a modular with 8 VCOs, does anyone know what
would be the best way to have 8-voice polyphony using MIDI 2 CV
convertor(s) ?

I've allready checked several convertors, but most of them
assign midi notes rotary (1234567812345678), and the other
assign 1 midi channel to 1 CV channel.

With rotary assignments, it's impossible to have controllers
on the voice you want (you risk changing a parameter on a module
you don't want to change), and with the 1 midi channel for 1
CV channel method, you use an awfull lot of midi channels (8 or more)
and the worst thing of all, you can't play a chord with your key-
board since that sends only on 1 midi channel at a time(*sigh*).

I've looked into the Doepfer MCV12 (12 digital, 12 analog channel
midi 2 cv for 500 USD) and that looks like an attractive unit,
but will that eliminate the above problems ?

Any suggestions?

Bert Schiettecatte.
