8051 vs. 68K

For price Vs. performance, the HC11 is a hell of a controller

I've spent a few months working with HC11 based test circuits, and I have
to say that it was incredibly straight-forward in assembly, and the
number of things you can pull off with the range of ports would make an
8051 cry.  However much overkill it may be in this kind of circuit, it
would probably be worth it in the long run with all the extra fun
possible.
