  Good - you'll have to forgive me, this is all new and I'm excited :)

  I was hoping memory wouldn't be an issue becuase we'd probably want to
  save room for a "header" for each patch - which might not get used right
  away but later might store things like a Patch Name, Patch Type (a real
  patch or maybe a sequence?), and other stuff that I can't even think of
  now because I don't know what people will try to do with it!

  This is something I've definitely learned from working on many software
  projects - making a simple system with real flexibility for enhancements
  requires a good deal of planning - and lots of wasted space for "future
  use". Lets try to keep that in mind if that's the way this thing gets
  built.
