  (Alas) I haven't used any Obie stuff with knobs. When you say "relatively" do
  you mean that;
  -You switch to a patch
  - You turn a knob to the right and that value goes "up"
  - regardless of what it's setting was?

  This implies encoders and not pots for the controls - doesn't it?
  In this case, both methods don't use the same hardware - what am I missing
  here?
