Yes. That is real good information. I worked with the 8816 from Mitel and
they really work fine. I used them to switch TTL-Signals (MIDI-signals after
the optocoupler-interface) and for audio signal (SMPTE-signals, normal (not
HIFI) NF).
Have a look for them - the quality is good enough for synth patching and
they are really easy to control.
A little tip. Make the RESET-Line of the chip a little bit >slower<. I mean
that you should make the line unsensitive against spikes. If not a little
spike can erase all your patch-connections. Normally a little capacitor
(100p) from the RESET-Line to GND helps ! You can eventually put an 120ohms
resistor from your RESET-generator to the RESET-pin in series (Yes that is
an lopass filter with the capacitor).
