DDS idea!

   This is the basic idea of wavetable synthesis, it will work, but
   you should add at least a programmable LPF after DAC to remove
   aliasing frequencies, SSM2040 has been proposed for that function
   in Hal Chamberlin's book (sorry), recommend you to find this book.

   (It's no more in press, but you could ask Hal himself to make a
   photocopy of it - if my memory serves somebody in comp.dsp
   newsgroup has actually bought copies from Hal, so ask there.)

   =====================

I just had an idea to use DDS (direct digital synthesis) as a
function generator. By using an adder, latch and Eprom/RAM you could
easily produce any waveform by making a look-up table which you could
configure easily. By adjusting the rate the Eprom/RAM is read you could get a
good range of frequencies I suspect.
Has anyone implemented such a thing as this - do ya reckon itd work?

Aran.
