Why not use a CD4052 1 of 4 mux. drive a CD4024 counter off of the square
wave output of the VCO and have each of the 4 mux. inputs be one waveform.
Using some center off switches you could switch the address lines to the mux.
to get different sequences of waveforms. I'm going to try this and let you know.
