I built a pygmy Serge KB based on the TKB - bought the touchplate from
Serge (16 years ago?! - man, how time does fly).

It is simple etched copper-plate with a layer of solder - probably from a
professional wave-solder gizmo.

I have schematics, but I promised Serge I would not give them out. Suffice
to say it is based on a 16-to-1 multiplexor (74150). The touchplates are
capacitive, so when you finger a plate, it slows down one side of a clock
pulse enough (ref the same clock pulse) to trigger a latch which holds the
address of a counter cycling the multiplexor - the address is sent thru
another latch to a DAC & thus a CV out.
