     Well this isn't the way Mackie would do it but it will work just fine. 
     The thing that the audiophiles would spit on is the noise level 
     (assuming normal op-amps). But if you're going to amplify some signal 
     in order to f*** it up in a modular, this is perfect. Heck make the 
     gain a little higher for some cool clipping distortion FX while yer at 
     it - there's a pot there so you can always turn it down.
     
     Try not to use an old scratchy wire-wound pot cuz the scratches will 
     get amplified too. Hey wait turntable effect...
