All the stuff about the wood case having a subconscious, subliminal or
other type of influence on one's playing is all fine and good. It's very
hard to quantify though.
Still...
To choose 10 reasons why a mini sounds the way it does and NOT include the
filter or the glide circuit is just dumb. Complete flamebait.
A studio electronics Midimoog sounds like a minimoog and there isn't a
speck of wood.
We were talking about the "sound" of the synth, not the influence of the
instrument's physical composition on a
musician's playing. I understand the point that is being made, however if
that was the case, we would also have to include the name Moog itself or
the color of the pilot light or the different angles of the console as they
affect playing styles.
Do synths with 1/4" jacks sound better than ones with 1/8" jacks?
Would Stevie wonder have played the synth differently if he could see it?
Did Keith Emerson's performances suffer from playing the cut-off mini
keyboards that were in his organ?
Did Gary Wright, The Beach Boys, Kool and the Gang and countless others
suffer when they painted their minis?
My car is NOT any faster just after I wash it!!
Jeez, next we'll have an Analog Synthesizer Psychic Hotline to tell us more!
"I didn't like your performance today, Bill. Could you have that thing
redone is white ash and come back tomorrow?"
