Analog (Mis)information

       Hello, fellow analoguers -

I was browsing the web, and found this poor misguided

chap saying things like " The filter has little to do with the "sound" as

that word is normally used..." (in reference to the MiniMoog).

I usually don't go around hacking at peoples ideas or opinions,

but when someone says things like "I use an FB01 for a Moog

Bass sound and no-one can tell the difference". Bullshit! The

only people that cannot tell the difference are people that have

never HEARD a MiniMoog before (give me a break!).

I can attest to this, because I had a DX 7 for years, and

"analog sounding" sounds were not it's forte' (to be read "

nearly impossible") Just try and do a resonant filter sweep

     on one!

Anyways, I'll give you the web address and let you draw

     your own conclusions....

         He's at http://www.hollis.co.uk/hinton/myths.html#myth1

( I think his problem is that he has too much

money invested in D#G#T at L sample puking boxes, and is upset

because he sold off his old stuff cheap!)

Here's to keeping information clean and 99 44/100 % pure!
