Turning an old PC into a MIDI-CV converter

     That sounds like a decent solution for those without spare PC/MPU's 
     laying around. How do you talk to that chip? Serial port? How fast is 
     it?

I -*think*- that you could do the same thing with a BASIC Stamp - 
single chip BASIC interpreter chip from MicroChips, $39 each.
