analog sequencer HELP!

hi

i was wondering if there is an analogue sequencer FAQ or any good info. i could 
FTP about them.(excluding hyperreal, i have seen what they have)  I have started
to build one, but have never had the chance to use one. i just need some basic 
info on tips and the tricks of them(how to use the patchcords, note length 
control, filter control, etc.) I am using the PAIA plans for this unit, but i 
will modify them to fit my needs. anybody got any ideas on what i need to put in
the unit to have the best darn sequencer i can build without spending a ton of 
cash. how many knobs,etc.?  I just really need some good info. on them. If 
anyone could respond or e-mail me with some info or personal ideas on sequencers
and building them, i would be VERY thankful.
