will nothing work??? (is 606 LT trig out a v-trig???)

In my previous post about converting v-trig to s-trig, I got the drain &
source connections the wrong way around.... they should be:

                   Drain|-----------------o S-Trig
                       ---
                 Gate | |
       trig o---------| |
                      |___|
 V-Trig. | Source
                        |
        gnd o------------------------------o gnd

There are two types of transistor: Bipolar and Field-effect. Bipolar
transistors have `Emitter, Base, and Collector' pins, whilst Field-effects
(or FETs) have `Gate, Source, and Drain'. The FET can be thought of (in a
limited way) as a sort of voltage-controlled resistor - voltages applied
to the gate vary the conductance across the Source and Drain connections.
So, in the circuit above, since the input voltage is relatively large, the
drain-source resistance is lowered - voila! short-to-ground.

Ok, so I skipped some of the theory, but that's more-or-less all you need
to know :)

Oh, for this application, you'd best use something a bit chunky
(VMOS FET - something like a VN10KM, VN46AF, VN66AF, VN67AF etc.)

cheers,

john..
