     Any hole bigger than a quarter is a good candidate for a hand-held 
     Sabre saw. Usually I make corner holes with a 1/2" drill bit, chuck up 
     a fine-tooth metal blade, buzz between the holes till the middle falls 
     out, and then hack away at the remaining bits. If you cut careful you 
     don't even need much clean-up filing.
     
     Also here's a preachy tidbit - wear goggles no matter what. Ears are 
     good to protect and so are eyeballs.
