I dont know fo anywhere still makeing
or selling patch pin boards anymore, I tried to get
one for a synth I wanted to build. No Luck.
Something Ive been working on which uses
the motorola MC145100 which is a 16way cross point
switch, I figuered using four of these would give
me an 8 * 8 grid (64 switches) and can easily
be expanded into any configuration (16*16/16*4/
32*8/etc/etc). I then was contemplateing using
a bit of ram to drive these,l Ie program the ram
with the values to drive these switches and then
I could even get several patches on one Sort of
RAM/PATCH card.
The good thing about the 145100 is that
it will allow analog ac signals though and its
only 16 pins, so it aint that big. There may be
by now a bigger version in a plcc format chip
Ill have a look in motorolas web page today.
