a few 4-voice questions

Hi!

I am planning to build a Polyphonic Synth in the style of the Oberheim
4-voice.
I don't plan a 100% clone (more storable parameters etc.).
Anyway, I would like to get as much information from 4-voice
owners as possible (8-voice owners also welcome (;->).

Most questions are about the programmer:

I know which parameters are not storable; but for the ones which
are, how do the knobs in the programmer section and in the voices'
section interact?
For the filter frequency I guess the global (storable) setting and the
local knobs add up to the final value ? Or does the programmed
value override the local one (i.e. either have manual settings, or
all parameters are the same for all voices) ?
Could anybody tell me details about this?
What about the Envelopes? Are the local ones disabled? Or the
Modulation amount?

Any hint would be welcome, because I haven't got one around to play with.

The SEM itself: If you could choose, say, 3 more parameters, what would
be most important for you?
Could you live with ADS envelopes, or is it a hard limitation?
And so on ... any input is welcome!!
