For the AD821 I have used the Analog devices MAT-03. For the AD818 I
have used the Analog devices MAT-02. Of course, you can just use
2N3904s and 2N3906s if you hand-match them and paste them together in
pairs with heatsink goop. This is usually good enough for any but the
most demanding applications.
The XR2209 can still be found hanging on a hook at the local
electronics store in bubble-packs, I think.
The SN94281 I've never used and therefore have no advice.
When you do get your big modular thing up and running, be sure and
post your story to the list!

Hi,
I'm new to the DIY list, but have been into the synth/electronics
thing for quite some time. I have yet to build my dream system (big
modular thing with lots of knobs), but I have been collecting circuits
for several years. While most of these use parts that are available,
some (as I'm sure everyone knows) use those dang long-out-of-production
parts. So, I'm wondering whether anyone knows of a source for any of
the following: AD821, AD818, XR2209, SN94281?
Thanks,
Doug Ferrell

p.s. Are any of you located in Silicon Valley? If so, I'd love to get
together to chat (and even see/hear your electronic projects).
