LC circuits

[Synthaholic]

Has anyone used LC tank circuits to create resonant systems for music
applications?  It would seem easy to build at least a 'pop' generator
with one capacitor, one inductor, and one resistor.  Perhaps the
resistor could be a FET to allow voltage controlled damping.  It even
has a built in exponentially decaying EG.  One would only need apply a
pulse to it's input to kick it into action.
