...Sounds to me like maybe someone ought to try and figure out poly-
phonic key assignment, autotune, and the like, and work on a program
that can be put into an EPROM to run a processor (like a Z-80. I know,
I know, you can all stop laughing now! With how cheap these processors
are [and plentiful], and the fact that MANY polyphonic analog boards
used them, I think they're a shoe-in.).
I realize this is not easy, but I am eventually going to attempt this!
I am going to try and write it open-ended, so anywhere from 4-32 voices
are possible (hopefully). Any suggestions?
(also, I would make the hardware and source code available for all
you DIY'ers out there!)
A polyphonic ASM-1 (4,6,8 ...?) Would be formidable, indeed!
