Chaos

I believe that the following are examples of chaotic systems in
     synthesizers:

     1) Steadily clocked Sample & Hold samples a VCO waveform, and the S/H
output wraps around and modulates the VCO's frequency

     2) Phase-locked loops that can lock onto harmonics

I'm sure there are others but I think the common thing is that the
response of the system to stimulus has "stable points", separated by
"unstable points". Do I have this right? Is this chaotic? Or should I
go back and re-read my chaos books?

Anyone played with chaos circuits? Either osillators or waveform
modifying circuits?
