PAiA MIDI2CV8, question

hi all,

I have been reading this list for a few months( love it!) now and have a
question about the PAiA MIDI2CV8 and the difference between linear and
exponential CV output.

As I understand, most of the synths out are are exponential and Paia is one
of the few to have linear response VCOs, (please correct me if I am wrong).

I have a ProOne ( with many CV taps brought to front panel) and am woundering
if the V/Hz add on card for the PAiA MIDI2CV8 will be needed to interface the
CV ins? The ProOne works well with the my Roland MSQ-600 and a two panel Serge
(now Sound Transform Systems) system and I am not sure if these are expo or
linear, although I bet they are expo ...

Anyone care to enlighten the debate between linear vs. expo CV as well as
clarify the add on card question?

I really enjoy the group, hope to someday "roll my own" - might start with the
ASM-1 (BTW, has anyone got one working, any sound files on the net?)

thx,
Jeff
