Amen to this!
I was thinking about increasing the range of my OB-8's VCF frequency
knob. In theory, it would be as simple as changing a resistor.
But then - just in time, to be honest! - I realized that this would *also* 
change
the sensitivity of things like Keyboard Tracking - not very pleasant
in a synth that only knows Tracking on or off ...
(I know why I prefer hardware solutions over software any time ...)
