FatMan VCF/AR question

Hi,

my "homebuilt" PAiA FatMan developed a nasty habit over the last few weeks:
When setting the Attack and/or Release value of the VCF AR envelope to short
amounts (about from 0 to 1/10 turn clockwise, I could measure the exact values
if necessary) there is a _really_ nasty and *loud* popping/cracking sound,
so loud in fact that these low settings are virtually unusable at the moment.

And a filter envelope with long rise and fall times is much less than half
the fun... :(

Before I ask my question, I should mention that the FatMan was my first
(and so far, only) larger DIY electronic project, and I was quite pleased
that the thing really worked from the start (apart from a minor problem with
getting the correct powersupply here in Germany ;-)

Does any one of you DIY buffs and homebuilding experts have any idea as to
where I could start trying to look for the problem? (The only measuring
equipment I have is a digital multimeter, no oscilloscope.)

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Lothar
