So where does the computer come in?  The approach you describe
pretty much leaves it out.

A computer-controlled analog synth is not that innovative.  Instead,
how about making a computer controlled 3D spatial modulator.  You could
use VCA's and BBD's, along with VCF's to emulate the various approaches
to spatial modulation, all under computer control.  You could write a
Visual Basic program to control it all and play with settings.  Later
you could build in an embedded controller and MIDI interface.  Now THAT
would be cool.
